We care about their future!

At Wilson Avenue's June awards assembly program (held at Holy Family School), Educators for Kids and Mr. Romeo presented forty-three "Community Achievement Awards" to the school's 5th,6th,7th, and 8th grade students.  These students have been dedicating and volunteering their services for the past four years.  This is a shining example of the compassion and caring of these Newark students who sacrifice their own free time to give back to the community.  Thanks to the principal, Ms. Hernandez and other Wilson Avenue staff members, they continue to develop into young adults who care about others.

Along with this community service, Ms. Fereira, Wilson Avenue's music instructor, has made it possible for Educators for Kids to expose these students' talents at our annual scholarship breakfast.  Once again this service is done on their own time.

Educators for Kids and Wilson Avenue staff members are truly proud of this group of students.

On March 19, 2008, members of the Educators for Kids hosted an Easter event at a Newark youth group.  The children were treated to a party with many activities and a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny!! The children had a great time.  Below are pictures of that event.

On May 4, 2008, Educators for Kids awarded a $500 scholarship to Newark resident Davie Ingram.  Mr. Ingram will use this scholarship to help defray the cost of his trip to Africa to assist the people and orphans in the country  of Swaziland.
