Educators for Kids hosted its Sixth Annual Scholarship Breakfast on Sunday, December 5th at the Mediterranean
Manor in Newark.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, Educators for Kids was able to award a $500 scholarship
to Newark's West Side High School senior, Delicia Maynor. Ms. Maynor will be attending college in September
to study nursing.

This year, Educators for Kids was proud to honor three outstanding people for their lifelong
dedication and service to the children and citizens of the City of Newark. Lieutenant Ciro Mangone and Police Officer
Larry Melillo of the Newark Police Department and Mr. Augusto Amador, East Ward Councilman.

Educators for Kids presented Mr. Joseph Rendeiro, Principal of Hawkins Street School, The 2010 Principal of
the Year award for his continued commitment and dedication to the children of Newark.

A special award was presented to Mr. William Haberthur for his
commitment to Educators for Kids. Our summer tutoring program this year was made possible with the assistance of
Mr. Haberthur. We are truly grateful for his generosity.
